This is the CORE principal as developed by Bruce Lee! The same style as taught by Bruce Lee himself in the three martial arts schools that he founded. Gain confidence, flexibility, endurance, focus and life-saving self protection skills. Nationally recognized ranking. History of Jeet Kune Do (JKD) Founded in 1962 by Bruce Lee. Lee's original martial arts style was Wing Chun Kung Fu. He was taught by Yip Man. Lee found the art to have serious limitations so he decided to make modifications to the style and add the best techniques from other arts. He made the moves of Wing Chun more fluid and combat oriented. He added techniques from American Boxing and French Fencing. Lee was a great fan of boxing champion Mohammed Ali and utilized Ali's punching techniques in developing the Arc Punch and Flick Jab. Lee believed that as soon as you are attacked you should compliment the opponent's actions instead of using direct force against force. This way the smaller or weaker, yet, quicker defender is not at a disadvantage.
